Re: Work Christmas Parties
I miss the days of the totally inappropriate Christmas party. I used to organise the ones for the company I worked for in my 20s/30s and they were great nights. As me and Lady B got together (ahem) at one of them we always tried to go to a Christmas party somewhere every year even though I've been self-employed for ages and we were the only employees. One Dickens themed one we went to under the tunnels at London Bridge was one of my favourite nights ever. After last year's wash-out, I'm booked at a Dickens themed one at a secret London venue.

Nah.

Working from home has killed what little inclination I have to seek out the few people accross the matrix teams I deal with that actually live in a 10 mile radius.

Never really enjoyed them anyway. If you are doing a night out properly you don't want to do it in front of colleagues.

Re: Work Christmas Parties
I go along to them to be polite, but plenty of people I would rather spend time with other than the people I work with. Envious of people who actually like the people they work with. But my experience of office parties is you only like about 1 or 2 people and social dynamics just replicate those of the office. You think you're escaping the office, but you are just bringing the office into the pub.

Nice to see the idiot, failed estate agent getting shown up on yet another thread.

The place I work doesn't have one. And even if they did I wouldn't be invited because nobody likes me

Yup pub sorted... Turkey and trimmings and copious amounts of slutty booze... be a few people there not seen in almost 2 years... will be interesting...

Scorch, even if I hadn't had the jabs, I'd still be going regardless.

We've been stuck indoors long enough, the chances of catching it are low and it's fucking christmas.

I hope you have a wonderful time.

Re: Work Christmas Parties
I happened to be reading the covid thread this morning and you literally said on there that the jab doesn't prevent transmission so I'm not sure it's a good argument to use now.

And as I said, I'm going to my Christmas party and indeed to any place I choose to.

Re: Work Christmas Parties
I've told you, I've had it and had my jabs. It's very unlikely I'll get it again.

Still, you sit in doors whilst people enjoy themselves. I'm sure you're probably a boring cunt anyway.

No, I think it's more that you're being a spectacular short sighted dimwit. I can just imagine how it would play out on here as well.

*Starts thread* Title: 'I'm going to a massively crowded place for a party or event tonight to get beered right up'

Three days later

*Starts thread* Title: 'I've tested positive for covid. i can't believe it. Now I can't go on this holiday I had booked/visit my family for Christmas. I can't work out how it happened. It's so unfair. It's everyone's fault but mine.'

Personally I'm not even worrying about anything. I'm going to my work Christmas party, but I fully understand the logic of people who say they are sacking theirs off because there's something they really can't or don't want to miss happening soon after.

Re: Work Christmas Parties
Not been to a work Xmas party since 2000 and never will again. I spend enough time with utter CUNTS on zoom and office on a daily basis and I don't want to mix with them socially as I would end up in a scrap or on a disciplinary for verbal slander

Since 2000 a few of us who have known each other for years just do our own thing .... Curry and pub

Used to have a big freebie party when I worked for a big newspaper at the time, got hammered and ended up being sick down myself. Woke up lying on a bank of mud in a building yard I'd somehow managed to get into !!

I've had covid and my jabs.

There's more chance me getting my end away with Katy Perry than catching covid.

I really want Swiss to look like Swiss Tony.

I want him to say " making love to a beautiful woman is like watching West Ham play in the 80s, lots of beautiful touches followed by a massive disappointment when you get near the box "

Re: Work Christmas Parties
Scorch is 100% correct.

I'm meant to be going to Copenhagen next friday - i wanna go so i'm probably gonna try and avoid the chance of catching covid.

Not because covid bothers me but because I want to go to Copenhagen.
